About Beth Schumaker


Beth has twenty plus years as a leadership development coach, consultant, and trainer. She combines this background with her direct experience as a leader to bring a unique perspective to her work as Senior Partner with BrightStar Leadership Consulting. She understands the business acumen, emotional intelligence competencies, and motivational factors needed for professional and personal success, and how to help leaders and teams achieve peak performance.

In her current and previous roles, she has coached, trained, and consulted with an extensive array of executive and senior leaders in a variety of industries. She has demonstrated an outstanding ability to help her clients and teams identify and address performance opportunities and goal clarity in a way that helps them excel in expanding their leadership capabilities to drive superior business results and professional growth.  Her coaching and training clients find that her inspirational and informed approach brings out the best in them and those with whom they interact.

 Career History

  • Manager, Training and Organizational Development, Cox Communications - Partnered with business leaders and training colleagues to develop and implement sales and sales leadership training strategy for all business and residential sales channels. Sales and sales leadership curriculum development initiatives recently awarded Brandon Hall Group Excellence Award and Stevie Award - Bronze - Sales Training and Coaching Program of the Year
  • Founder and President, Group Dynamics – Provided leadership development and coaching, consulting, and training solutions to a variety of Fortune 500 organizations and professional firms
  • Trainer and Internal Consultant, Bellsouth Leadership Institute – Provided leadership development training and internal consulting for all of the BellSouth Companies. Received multiple Top Notch Trainer awards.
  • Sales Manager and Account Executive, AT&T and BellSouth – managed sales team selling voice and data communications products to businesses; sold same products to businesses as an account executive. Four time Achiever’s Club member and recipient of numerous customer service awards
  • Coordinator of Social Services, Northside Hospital – provided clinical assessments, individual and group therapy, community outreach/training, and discharge consultation for both in-patient unit and outpatient facility.
